Molly Sims made some headlines recently when she discussed the extremes she went to in order to maintain her size 0 figure during her supermodel days in the early 2000s — happily, she’s found a much healthier relationship with food these days, which she talks about (along with fashion, beauty and other lifestyle tips, natch) on her blog and her book, released last year: The Everyday Supermodel: My Beauty, Fashion and Wellness Secrets Made Simple.
This satisfying smoothie comes straight from Molly Sims herself, who says, “I love whipping up this smoothie in the morning and keeping on hand before a workout, so I never get too hungry before I sweat it out. The almonds keep me energized and the cacao/cocoa powder fulfill a chocolate craving. Yum!”
Molly Sims’ Almond Cacao Smoothie

Serves: 1

- 1 frozen banana
- ¼ cup whole natural almonds
- 2 tablespoons cacao or cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons agave
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- Roasted almonds, as optional garnish
- Place all ingredients into blender and puree until smooth and creamy. Sprinkle almonds on top, if desired.
